Skye Africa Intelligence (Pty) Ltd (“Skye”) and the East, Central and Southern Africa Health Community (“ECSA-HC”) today announced a Memorandum of Understanding establishing a regional partnership to deploy AI-enabled health solutions across the ECSA-HC membership, announced on the sidelines of the 16th ECSA-HC Best Practice Forum, taking place from 2 to 7 August 2026 in Manzini, Eswatini.

At the Boao Forum for Asia Perth Conference on July 27, Li Donglin, Chairman of CRRC Zhuzhou Institute, joined global political and business leaders to share the company’s strategy for scaling green industries through proprietary technologies and application-driven innovation. Discussing how to move innovation from the laboratory to commercial deployment, Li argued that real-world industrial settings should determine technology priorities. He cited partnerships with XCMG Group and Australian mining giant Fortescue as examples. Together they are creating integrated green value chains linking mines, railways and shipping—for example, using renewable energy to power electric locomotives and producing ammonia and methanol from renewable hydrogen for marine fuel.

The project features a total energy storage capacity of 35MWh and integrates 8 units of Sungrow’s PowerTitan Series ESS. Sierra Leone, one of the countries with the lowest electricity access rates globally, has long faced challenges from limited power infrastructure and unreliable electricity supply. The national grid relies on a single 161kV transmission line with a capacity of 70MW, connecting the Bumbuna Hydropower Plant to the distribution network of Freetown, Sierra Leone’s capital. Of the approximately 172,000 electricity users nationwide, 90% are concentrated in Freetown, leaving most regions with limited access to reliable power. Only 5 of the 16 regional capitals receive partial electricity supply from diesel generators and hydropower facilities, while rural electrification remains severely constrained.

Under this transformation program, the bank will adopt the Finacle Deposits Suite, Finacle Lending Suite, Finacle Virtual Accounts Management, and Finacle Liquidity Management Solution on a multi-region Finacle SaaS platform. This integrated platform will enable Investec to enhance business agility, drive higher operational efficiency, and continually meet regulatory compliance, while supporting its evolving business and client needs.

Binance today announced that bStocks, its tokenized securities offering, has surpassed $500 million in assets under management (AUM), seven weeks after launch. Since going live on June 11, 2026, the product has expanded from five tickers to more than 46 listings, providing eligible users with 24/7 access to tokenized securities and free, instant conversion between a bStock and its underlying stock. The milestone reflects growing demand for tokenized market access as more users explore traditional financial markets through Binance. Early platform data indicates that bStocks is attracting a predominantly crypto-native audience, with many users using tokenized securities as their first exposure to traditional finance.
